艾里奧柏堤：工人階級上天堂、千方百計

如果錯過了艾里奧柏堤的《查案記》，或者看過《查案記》對真馬利華倫第的演出印象深刻，覺得意猶未盡，都不要錯過《工人階級上天堂》。華倫第在《查案記》飾演令自己犯案後逍遙法外的警隊精英，已經入木三分，在《工人階級上天堂》演草根工人，同樣精彩。當年本片和《企業家之死》在康城影展瓜分金棕櫚獎，兩部都由華倫第主演，一部演勞動階層，一段演資本家，都能輕易駕馭，影帝風範無與倫比。

《千方百計》就由華倫第飾演人稱「總統」、長袖善舞的政治操盤人，與馬斯杜安尼飾演的神父互拚演技，兩大影帝火花四濺。影片改編自政治小說，在神秘瘟疫蔓延時，重要政經人物逐一被暗殺，內藏驚世陰謀。艾里奧柏堤把矛頭指向官場黑暗，影射執政者的腐敗，堪稱最不妥協的政治電影典範。

Gian Maria Volonte and Elio Petri joined forces again in THE WORKING CLASS GOES TO HEAVEN, and they managed to concoct a film that was even more hysterical than INVESTIGATION OF A CITIZEN ABOVE SUSPICION. The film shared the Palme d'Or with Francesco Rosi's THE MATTEI AFFAIR at the 1972 Cannes Film Festival, where Volonte proves his versatility as a capitalist in MATTEI and a labor in WORKING CLASS.

Based on the novel by Leonardo Sciascia, TODO MODO is a metaphysical mystery that offers a searing critique of Christian Democratic political power, telling the story of Italy's most successful politicians going on a monastic retreat at the convent of Don Gaetano to contemplate their notable careers and secretly devise a new power structure.
