在5月7日《心外幽情》的映後談，影評人登徒談到 #史高西斯 拍這個典型紐約故事的美學，以人物的反托、畫作的映襯表現角色身陷的情境，折射出社會制約對人的影響：主角以為自己找到自由，其實一直是被囚禁。

Known for his bizarre and physically demanding preparation work, the three-time Academy Award Best Actor has complete devotion to his roles. While preparing for THE AGE OF INNOCENCE, he walked around New York City with a top hat and a cane in hand for two months. In MY LEFT FOOT, he spent eight weeks in a cerebral palsy clinic in Dublin, learning to write and paint with his left foot, and never left his wheelchair during the shoot. Undoubtedly, there's method in his madness.

In the post-screening talk of THE AGE OF INNOCENCE on 7 May, critic Thomas Shin discussed #Scorsese's aesthetic dimension in the adaptation of his favorite New York story. Through representation of the narration and reflection of the paintings, we see how the unconventional and the willing participants are subject to emotional suffering as a result of social conformity.
