基阿魯斯達米:《童心一二三》至《雪馨》

基阿魯斯達米被譽為音階最闊的一位導演,他不斷開展實驗,創新電影語言,帶出對電影、人生、大自然的深刻反思,更挑戰觀眾的既定想法。《大寫特寫》是對電影的虛實辯證;《童心一二三》是對小孩「絕對真實」的紀錄;《10》探索數碼攝影的自由;全片只有五個鏡頭的《伍》闖進抽象藝術領域;《10重拾》反思電影核心價值和手法形式;臉部特寫講故事的《雪馨》,更是大師「高度原創的探索」。
在2月2日的映後座談會,講者小敏談到基氏電影的魅力,在於他能耐心捕捉人的真實感情。《雪馨》正反映出故事並不重要,電影的真實面貌是觀眾本身的感受和領悟。3月3日最後一場,撲飛趁早!

Abbas Kiarostami: From ABC AFRICA to SHIRIN
Throughout his career, Abbas Kiarostami has conducted bold experiments on filmmaking and asked spectators to bring a great deal to his oeuvre. To ask about the nature of truth and identity, as in CLOSE-UP; to peek into the world of children, as in ABC AFRICA; to dismantle the boundaries between fiction and documentary, as in TEN; to examine hyper-minimalism devoid of dialogue or even camera movement, as in FIVE; to discuss the creation of a true auteurist expression, as in 10 ON TEN; to study whether faces can tell a story words do not, as in SHIRIN. And to learn what masterful film is and can be.
In the post-screening talk on 2 Feb, critic Loretta Chang shared that the magic of Kiarostami's films lies in its delicate reflection of true human emotions. SHIRIN clearly illustrates that what's important is not the story it tells; it's the audience's perception that makes a film real. The final screening is on 3 Mar. ACT NOW!
