末日先鋒:戰甲飛車
1979年闖出名堂的Mad Max狂俠麥士,拍了三集之後,導演佐治米拿早於十多年前已計劃開拍第四集,卻因九一一與美國攻打伊拉克,不斷被擱置,但麥士不死,換了演員一樣精彩,更加入反父權的女性聲音,再次打破續集一定不及前集的成見。
在6月18日《霹靂神探怒掃飛車黨》映後談中,劉偉霖談到影片在澳洲電影中是個重要的里程碑,成功以澳洲電影身份攻陷荷里活。它跟《末日先鋒:戰甲飛車》主要的分別,在於時代背景較貼近現實,同時也是一個預言,片中呈現的能源危機及法院等,都揭示了一種接近失控的社會狀態。

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD
Mad Max was made famous by Australian director George Miller in 1979. After 2 sequels, he began preparing the 4th installment in 1997, it was however abandoned due to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the US war on Iraq. With the use of new stars and themes of female empowerment, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD finally won 6 Academy Awards. Who says that sequels are never as good as the originals?
In the post-screening talk on MAD MAX on 18 Jun, critic William Lau discussed how MAD MAX became the milestone of Australian cinema when it conquered Hollywood in 1979. The major difference of MAD MAX to its sequels is its setting of the futuristic world rather than the post-apocalyptic wasteland, which represented the director’s vision of the world.
