基阿魯斯達米:10、伍

基阿魯斯達米的創新意念和實驗精神永不言休。《10》以數碼攝影探索新的可能,影機淡定放車頭,聚焦剛離婚的駕車女子幾天兜轉德黑蘭街頭,接載的女性形形色色,十段自然發揮的精彩對談,道盡伊朗社會性別問題和深層糾結。

《伍》是基氏一部獻給小津的作品,以簡約的電影語言,闖進抽象藝術領域。妙手偶得的五片水風景,帶出不同的意趣和感覺。隨潮水飄浮的木頭、夜裏的鏡花水月,耐心靜觀,竟是一整個世界。 在1月14日的映後座談會,講者黎肖嫻、李焯桃談到基氏打破電影固定成規,不拘泥於紀實與劇情界限,著重生活的觀察,以攝影作為感官和思考的延伸,讓觀眾專注人物的感受,重回「生活應如何」的叩問之中。

Abbas Kiarostami: TEN and FIVE

Kiarostami has never ceased exploring the experimentation on filming. In TEN, the director sets his camera within a car, focusing on the ten conversations between a middle-class female driver and her passengers, each revealing deep truths about the role of women in contemporary Iranian society. Highly improvised, yet naturalistic and powerful.

FIVE instead is a hyper-minimalist piece. Kiarostami offers five Zen-like static shots of nature from driftwood on a beach to thunderous rain upon a dark sea, leaving viewers a window of the world for contemplation. Dedicated to Ozu Yasujiro, FIVE is a dazzling triumph of the long take.

In the post-screening seminar on 14 Jan, critics Linda Lai and Li Cheuk-to mentioned that Kiarostami breaks away from conventional filmmaking, mixing fiction and documentary elements in an unusual fusion of simplicity and complexity. His passionate observation of daily lives through his poetic vision challenges audiences to confront their own feelings and reflect the meaning of life.
