溝口健二60年祭:殘菊物語、雨月物語
溝口健二拍《殘菊物語》時,已在巔峰狀態,給銀幕留下了最好的歌舞伎電影。他的長鏡頭美學在此展現無遺,無論室內戶外,一場一鏡搖擺有致,暗夜路上真心對話,長長的推軌一幕是經典中的經典了。獲《電影旬報》選為當年十大電影第二位,4K修復版去年在康城首映,影評人莊拿頓盧辛鵬激賞為溝口最佳作。

Mizoguchi Kenji, 60th Anniversary: THE STORY OF THE LATE CHRYSANTHEMUMS and UGETSU
Mizoguchi Kenji's THE STORY OF THE LATE CHRYSANTHEMUMS is a heartrending masterpiece about the life and art of the world of Kabuki that marked the first full realization of the hypnotic long takes and eloquent camera movements that would come to define the director’s films. Voted No. 2 in Kinema Junpo's Top 10 of the year, the film has recently been digitally restored in 4K. It represents the pinnacle of Mizoguchi's early career and praised by critic Jonathan Rosembaum as Mizoguchi's greatest film.
UGETSU is a haunting tale about two men's obsessive pursuit of wealth and power, and the tragic consequences for their loyal wives. This landmark Japanese film won the Silver Lion Award for Best Direction at the Venice Film Festival in 1953, and was named No. 3 in Kinema Junpo's Top 10. Eric Rohmer named this one of his favorite Japanese films, and director Martin Scorsese listed it as one of his favorite films of all time.
