The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society (HKIFFS) held the Summer International Film Festival (SIFF) 2012 Programme Presentation at Olympian City today.
The event kicked off with the official promotion trailer of SIFF 2012, followed by an introductory speech by Mr. Fred WANG, Board Member of the HKIFFS. “We have selected a total of 27 films from nine countries and regions, ranging from heartwarming local stories and trend-setting buzzes from Japan and Korea, to masters’ classics and remarkable biopics… Whether you like it new or old, hip or retro, there is always something in the programme to surprise you!” said Mr. Wang.
Festival Ambassador
Miriam YEUNG greeted the audience in a surprise video, “I am joining forces with Puppet Kid, the SIFF mascot, again this year to celebrate a youthful summer with all of you. Shake off your stress and embrace a summer of movies!”
After sharing the highlights of the SIFF 2012 programme, the HKIFFS invited on stage the cast of its selection
, including Chapman TO, Carlos CHAN and Bonnie XIAN, for a lively session about their experience in shooting the film, which is having its local premiere at the festival.
The audiences were thrilled as
Joey YUNG, ’s leading actress, appeared in a video on the massive TV wall at Olympian City and reflected on her participation in the film: “ is not exactly auto-biographical… but unlike other movies I have done, where I have to spend considerable time trying to fathom my character, it allows me to identify with my screen persona readily.”
SIFF 2012 will run from 14 to 28 August. The full programme can be viewed atwww.hkiff.org.hk. Tickets are now available atwww.urbtix.hkonline and URBTIX outlets.
