「電影‧傳說」：中產階級拘謹的魅力

五月剛剛過去，不過「法國五月」X Cine Fan 的「電影‧傳說」系列才剛剛開始。首先帶來布紐爾的《中產階級拘謹的魅力》，絕對是過癮之作，六個非富則貴的特權階級，想合乎禮儀吃一頓體面的晚餐，結果不是記錯日子，就是碰到諸多阻滯，愈搞愈離奇，然後發現原來在做夢，夢裡又有夢，故事裡有故事，弄得六個人疲於奔命，晚餐還是吃不成。布紐爾盡情發揮敘事魅力，示範他最耍家的超現實手法，更有他一貫的犀利批判，幽默諷刺上流社會的醜惡偽善。

Once Upon a Film: THE DISCREET CHARM OF THE BOURGEOISIE

Co-presented by Le French May and Cine Fan for the first time, Le French May is extended to the month of June with "Once Upon a Film". The 1st screening is Luis Bunuel's deliciously satiric masterpiece THE DISCREET CHARM OF THE BOURGEOISIE. Six metropolitan sophisticates are attempting to meet up for dinner parties, only to find the event ruined by an absent host, or some mysterious misunderstanding, or a bizarre turn of events, and then one will awake to find it all to be a dream, or a dream within a dream. The magic of the film lies in its endless narrative ambiguity and sensitive surrealism, thereby creating a disquieting work that expresses Bunuel's resistance to bourgeois values.
