This year’s festival program includes the Academy Award-winning epic “Doctor Zhivago” (1965) by director David LEAN, Hsiao-Hsien HOU’s coming-of-age masterpiece “The Boys from Fengkuei” (1983), and “Goodfellas” (1990), director Martin SCORSESE’s definitive take on the gangster genre. Other noted works includes “Alexander Nevsky” (1938) by Sergei EISENSTEIN, Federico FELLINI’s “Amarcord “(1973), D.W. GRIFFITH’s “Intolerance” (1916), “Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles” (1975) by director Chantal AKERMAN and “Insiang” (1976) by Lino BROCKA.
