A message from world renowned director #ChenKaige, whose classic (also a debut feature) #YellowEarth (Huang tudi) was presented at the 9th HKIFF back in 1985. 「1985年的香港國際電影節為我的電影處女作《黃土地》打開了一扇門，通過這扇門，中國新電影第一次看到了世界。那隆隆的開門聲至今留在我的記憶中。」 "HKIFF opened a door when they presented my directorial debut, Yellow Earth, in 1985.
