疤面煞星、義胆雄心

白賴仁狄龐馬在《疤面煞星》重新改造1932年的同名黑幫片經典，由阿爾柏仙奴塑造出主角狂妄又自卑的性格，並精心構思米雪菲花的噴血造型，著名影評人Roger Ebert就給了電影四星滿分。《義胆雄心》把背景設定於1930年禁酒令下的芝加哥，拍的是卡邦販賣私酒建立黑道霸業橫行無忌的故事，狄龐馬以強勁的卡士陣容，繼續拍出精彩個人風格。

在11月18日的映後談，張偉雄談到狄龐馬承繼希治閣的驚慄風格，其黑幫電影卻又能自成一格，《義胆雄心》一方面啟發自愛森斯坦的《波特金號戰艦》，但片中場面卻又被不少港產片仿傚，如《天羅地網》及《英雄好漢》等。

Its scenes of torture and brutal gang murders are highly controversial yet winning accolades from film critics like Roger Ebert. Another classic THE UNTOUCHABLES tells the story of rampant Chicago mobster Al Capone (Robert De Niro) building his underworld kingdom for liquor trafficking. De Palma's impressive visual signatures are amplified by the unbeatable cast in both films. Critic Bryan Chang mentioned in the post-screening talk on 18 Nov that De Palma has used Hitchcockian elements to shape his own cinematic style. In THE UNTOUCHABLES, he paid homage to Sergei Eisenstein's BATTLESHIP POTEMKIN, yet his fluid and exultant visual style has also inspired Hong Kong filmmakers in the making of gangster films.
