Berlin Winner by Wang Quan’an as Awards Gala

26 February 2010, (Hong Kong)Fresh off its Berlin Silver Bear Award for Best Screenplay, , by award-winning Chinese director Wan Quan'an, will be presented the as the Awards Gala at the 34th Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF). The Asian premiere will take place on the evening of 30 March 2010, directly after the annual HKIFF Awards Presentation Ceremony in the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Kowloon.

This year, was also nominated for the 60 th Berlin Film Festival’s coveted Golden Bear Award. director Wang Quan'an, part of China's sixth generation of filmmakers, previously won the Golden Bear at the 2007 Berlin Festival for the unconventional love story , set in the grasslands of Mongolia. It was the third Chinese movie ever to win the award.

Other premieres of Chinese films debuting at the 34 th HKIFF include the ‘Father of Chinese Rock’ Cui Jian, who goes behind the camera for the first time directing the first half of . 2010年2月26日(香港) –由屢獲國際殊榮的中國導演王全安執導、 本屆柏林影展最佳編劇銀熊獎得主《團圓》，將於第34屆香港國際 電影節「頒獎禮之夜」舉行亞洲首映。首映禮將於本年3月30日晚電影節年度頒獎禮後，假座香港文化中心大劇院隆重舉行。

蜚聲國際的導演王全安被喻為中國第六代導演之一，早於2007年柏林影展憑《圖雅的婚事》突圍而出勇奪金熊獎。 該部以蒙古草原為背景的超脫愛情故事， 更是歷年來第三部獲得該項國際殊榮的華語片。今年，《團圓》 也獲提名第60屆柏林影展的最佳電影金熊獎。

第34屆香港國際電影節亦將首映多部全球矚目的華語電影，包括由「 中國搖滾教父」崔健首次執導的 《成都我愛你》。憑著獨特的風格， 崔健為首半部《成都我愛你》注入與別不同的元素。 電影節尚包括兩部由台灣新生代導演首次執導的作品：包括榮獲 柏林影展亞洲電影促進聯盟(NETPAC)亞洲電影大獎、由陳駿霖執導及著名導演雲溫達斯監製的《 一頁台北》，以及由劉梓潔執導的《父後七日》。 兩部電影將分別於本屆電影節作亞洲及世界首映。
