3 March 2011 - The 5th Asian Film Awards (AFA) will be held on 21
March 2011 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. In
celebration of this celebrated occasion, the AFA invites the public to
specially arranged screenings of the nominated films from 3 to 17 March
2011.
Sacrifice, Moss, The Unjust and
Madame Xwill
have their Hong Kong premieres during this period. Together with the
four Hong Kong premiere titles, there will also be 13 other nominated
films shown for the public’s enjoyment of the nominated films before
the AFA ceremony.
SACRIFICE (Mainland China / Hong Kong)
Lush and opulent, Sacrifice is CHEN Kaige’s most heart-wrenching film in 10 years. Outstanding performances by GE You, WANG Xueqi, HUANG Xiaoming and FAN Bingbing bring this story of love, loss and sacrifice alive. In the period of the warring states in China, Court Doctor, CHENG Ying (GE You), is forced to sacrifice his newborn son to save his master’s boy whose clan is wiped out by General TUAN Gu (WANG Xueqi). Scheming revenge, CHENG offers his service to the General and persuades him to become godfather to the boy, only to see his plan backfire.
MOSS (South Korea)
The story is about the inhabitants of a village, and a man who comes
to the village for his father’s funeral. He tries to figure out the
mystery of his father’s death, but the villagers watch his every move.
YU Hae-jin has been nominated as Best Supporting Actor for his role in
this film.
THE UNJUST (South Korea)
Action wunderkind RYOO Seung-wan
(Crying Fist) directs and
delivers another outstanding performance in this thriller about rampant
corruption in government. A serial killer is on the loose and even
the president wants to get involved in the investigation. When the
most probable suspect dies in custody, high ranking authority decides
to create a killer – and anyone will do. Detective CHOI makes a deal
with a mob boss to set up someone, anyone, as the serial killer.
MADAME X (Indonesia)
Madame X is an exemplar of how serious topics like tolerance can be examined without sacrificing glam kitsch and lip gloss. When a town is threatened by a homophobic militant politician, the safety of the country depends on a feminine hairdresser armed with his make-up brushes and superhero power; creating a sexy blend of martial arts and dance!
Tickets are now available for HKD$65 each. There are an allocated
amount of 40% discount tickets for full-time students. Senior citizens

About Asian Film Awards (AFA)
Inaugurated in 2007, the Asian Film Awards (AFA) is an international
pioneering programme that honours filmmakers with outstanding
achievements in the field of Asian cinema. Eminent filmmakers and
superstars from around the world are invited to bestow awards upon
winners of each category, making the ceremony an elaborate
extravaganza. A panel of jury members, comprised of international
professionals and prominent members in the community of world cinema,
will select among eligible films produced in the region in that year
and decide the award winners. Over the years, prominent guests, stars
and filmmakers who have attended the AFA include: Oliver STONE, William
HURT, Donatella VERSACE, Barrie OSBORNE, Luc BESSON, Arthur COHN,

第五屆亞洲電影大獎將於2011年3月21日假香港會議展覽中心舉行。為了令廣大市民更投入參與亞洲電影大獎，大會特別於3月5日至3月17日期間在香港
三家戲院放映部份提名電影。其中《妖X俠》、《青苔》、《趙氏孤兒》及《無義之城》更是首度在港公映，讓廣大戲迷先睹為快。市民除了可一睹以上四套未曾在
香港上映的提名電影外，更可藉此機會於戲院內重溫另外13部提名電影。

有譽為陳凱歌十多年來的最佳作品，陳凱歌帶來自身的戲曲情結，加上多位實力演員包括葛優、王學圻、范冰冰、黃曉明、海清、趙文卓等坐陣。程嬰（葛優）是一 介平民醫師，受托運走慘遭滅門的趙家唯一血脈，權臣屠岸賈（王學圻）不肯罷休，以城內一百嬰孩要脅，結果把程嬰骨肉錯認，在程跟前摔死嬰孩。程嬰把趙孤當 親兒，在屠岸賈身邊帶大，忍辱只為15年後大報復。

劉海鎮挑戰最佳男配角之作，《青苔》講述一個村內的故事。有一男子突然進村參加其父親喪禮，他嘗試找出父親死亡的真相，但同時，其他村民亦在觀察他的一舉一動。
《無義之城》（南韓）－影射官僚黑暗面
韓國票房走勢凌厲，導演柳昇完繼《赤搏之男》後找來多位實力演員較勁。一個牽涉多宗綁架及兇殺案的連環殺手在逃，總統下令加快調查進度以向公眾交代，但同
時被捕的嫌疑犯竟在拘留其間身亡，於是當局決定為案件打造一個兇手，負責處理案件的蔡探員與犯罪集團的首領合作，設計去謀害目標對象使其成為案中的連環殺
手。

以華麗抵抗 反對 多元性取向的暴力衝擊
一個極度討厭同性戀者而且崇尚武力的官員正要進入這個城市，他計劃推倒該處的歪風。常以女性裝扮示人並身懷超能力的髮型師，矢志以性感的武術和誘人的舞術抗衡惡勢力，誓死捍衛他們的樂土。
門票由即日起公開發售，票價為港幣65元，設全日制學生（額滿即止）、長者及殘疾人士六折優惠。觀眾亦可於網上或電話訂票，或親臨各戲院購買門票。
