Rock Star United  4/4/2008

Notes from a Gwailo:-

This was the second time that F.B.I. had played at the Vine Centre. We were hoping for a huge crowd that would bring the house down. But, it seems due to the long weekend lots of people had gone away for a holiday. Though, the guys and girls who were left were hardcore rockers and they made up for it with their intensity.

We started the show with The Masquerade, a very heavy and taxing song. I wouldn't normally start with this song because by the end of it I will have run out of energy; same with the rest of the band.

Then, we played a new song, Amore (the french word for love). I wanted to test this song out at Rockstar so we had experience playing it in front of a crowd before HK Live! The song went well and so there was no need to cut it from HK Live' set list.

Just for fun we did a cover of  'Smells like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana. As you can tell I hadn't practised it very much because I was in Australia for the Easter holidays. I was staying with my sister and I couldn't do any singing practise. :( I know... excuses excuses! The band played it well. I am just going to make sure that I sing it better next time.

After the cover we played Ghouls 'n' Ghosts. This song has grown and mutated into another form. This time we played this song it would be different than anytime we have played it before.

Before the start of the show I spoke to one of the guys from the Vine and he asked me if we were going to play 'Lover Man'. LOL! I knew what song he meant, but we were only going to play five songs, and that wasn't one of them. He looked so disappointed when I told him that we weren't going to play it and it ate me up inside (I felt guilty). So we decided to add one extra song and keep him happy. I really enjoy playing this song!

We topped off the show with the FBI theme song and that was it! No need to say more. Just watch the video. Another show over and time was ticking over until HK Live! the next day. Today's show was great practise. Thanks for all of the people at Flight 852 that came to support us and the local school bands. You guys rock!

Thanks to SU Lee for these videos!
