After Akihabara and seeing those random fireworks, KB set up a great Yakiniku (焼肉) dinner at a restaurant in Shibuya named ' 三幸園'. The food was pretty good and it was reasonably priced for Japan (if you're planning on getting halfway decent you better be prepared to pay!)
Stephen's intense passion for yakiniku is clear from this picture. Stephen
After dinner we went back to KB's to bid farewell to Swang (who was off to an all-night Rave... believe it or not ) Some of us headed over to meet up w/ some other friends at the same fancy pants restaurant we had teppanyaki Thanksgiving dinner at two days before. This time they were going for seafood instead:
I opted to pass on the seafood, besides, I was still full. :-P
Then we headed down the street to find a fun bar to chill at...
On the way we passed this mobile restaurant built inside of a VW Microbus Deluxe. Since I used to own one of these, of course I had to take a picture. (just like i did when I saw it two years ago!) :-P
Ultimately we ended up hanging out at this 'western bar' place down the street. It had a cowboy motif and was showing John Ford Westerns on a big TVs hanging from the ceiling... but they mostly played contemporary Mexican music... but mixing foreign genres improperly is quite common in Japan... (and of course Westerners do it w/ asian stuff all the time).
The whole time we were there, this weirdo guy w/ an afro was sitting in the corner taking pictures of everyone. I felt uncomfortable. :-P
We bar hopped a bit, but ultimately the night ended in a wash. I stayed out later than I had wanted though, since I had to catch the train to Kyoto the next morning... which will be my next blog. :-P
