Shenzhen Shopping

My friend Pemapema was in town last week for Filmart, and she was working very hard all week, so she asked me to take her to Shenzhen on the weekend to get out and see something besides the inside of the HK Convention Center.  

After getting lunch, we stopped by one of the many DVD shops in the Dong Men area. For those who don't know,  99% (if not 100%) of the stuff they sell at these places is fake.  In Chinese DVD shops its actually quite difficult to buy something that's not 'fake' (actually a somewhat nebulous word...).

Anyway, I was surprised to see this US movie on sale though. I thought I'd take a pic:

Pemapema recently bought an iPhone so I took her to some of the electronic shops to find some accessories like a case, battery, etc.

I was tempted to get it just to see if anyone would notice me walking around with it on my phone. :-P

We also stopped by Uniqlo.  They had an interesting collaboration promotion going on:

not sure exactly why, or exactly how... but they've got a collaboration between Avex (the best record company in all of Japan) and Tetsuka Productions (手塚プロダクション), the company who created Atom (aka AstroBoy) and Kimba the White Lion.

Not sure where 'Ravex' came from, but its Avex's logo but the shape of Atom's head.  WTF?!

I wish they sold a t-shirt with just the logo.  but unfortunately they didn't.  I'll have to try the HK Uniqlo to see if they have more. :-P
