Shanghai 5 - the Jia Party

aok, so i gave you the preamble about the hotel,  so here's the actual 'opening party' pics...　上海のホテルのパーティーの写真です。楽しかった！写真見てください！

the party started around 9,  it was pretty crowded... not sure who most of these people were or why they were on the invite list, but i recognized a lot of people who had been at the Diesel-Adidas event the night before.

we ate right before because we didn't know there was going to be food there... foolish mistake!

not only was there food, there was a LOT of food, and pretty fancy stuff too.  since we had just eaten we mostly only picked at this stuff, and instead went down to the end of this long line of food...

to the desert area!   wow, it was over the top.  I think i personally ate like 5% of the chocolates in this picture...   :-P

There's also apparently a pizza restaurant on this floor too:

pizza wasn't as good as the chocolates though. :-P

I'm not sure if they find it offensive or not, but every time i meet a male model, I want to make a Zoolander reference:

Actually the party was on several levels of the building.  On the 3rd floor, we learned why we couldn't stay in the same suite we had the night before:

It was converted to a party room...  they had a bartender and some waitresses handing out vodka,  i think the vodka company sponsored this 'party within a party'...

the other side-party was up on the top floor in one of the presidential suites... it was quite huge:

the presidential suite wasn't /that/ much different than the regular suite except for the bathroom:

a giant bath and a giant walk-in shower.  One of the hotel's administrators took us up here.... she claimed that they had gotten 8 staff members in the tub just to see how many it could fit...  I'm hoping that was clothed...  

but yeah,  i guess if you're going to have some kind of crazy bathtub swingers party, this is the place to do it. :-P

Anyway, back to the regular party:

Pat and Faith,  and none other than Michael Wong (with Ming's friend who's name i forgot).

You guys probably saw this the other day, but i'll repost it...  let the record show that there was no residual smell of elephant present! :-D

I also got the chance to meet some really nice artists:

The beautiful Miss Amanda Strang.

And...

Recently added AnD artist Fiona Xie.

and I was quite happy to get a picture with Patina Lin (林嘉綺) too.  she is so frickin' tall (...and attractive). 

All three were really nice and friendly.  Hope to meet them again soon.  The party was quite fun too.  I'll be there for the first anniversary party for sure! ;-)
