Shanghai 4...

Before i get to the next blog about Saturday night in Shanghai, let me first go back and tell you where we were staying...  上海に泊まったのホテルが一寸話したい。

This is the Jia Hotel on Nanjing Xi Lu (南京西路). it's above an Adidas store.  The place is actually new (or at least newly renovated) and quite nice.  It turns out we have a contact w/ the owners... they invited us to come by the opening party they were doing that weekend, so we booked the least fancy room.... 

but there was a mix-up on the dates we were staying, so they graciously offered us an upgrade! score!  we got the corner suite (yes suite) two floors above the Adidas logo in that photo.... when we got the room we were blown away w/ the room.

上海でJia（家：ジャー）ホテル新です。この週末Openingパーティーが有りました。Pat君はホテルのボースの友達ですから、安くなりました。でも着きました時、問題が有る、予約が間違いから、安部屋がないから、それからレベルアプーしました！すごい！Suiteになりました！部屋がとても高かった！見て！

The room was basically a giant living room w/ a kitchenette and half-bath, plus a fancy bedroom and a huge bathroom.     I opted for the couch in the living room (cause I heard that Pat kicks in his sleep)....

In addition to the power and internet jacks, they also had a panel labeled 'IPOD' (on the left), which had RCA inputs and a SVGA input (which makes me wonder if you can connect your laptop to the TV?) 

Kitchenette (and 'guest' bathroom)... yes it came w/ kitchenware too...

This room had the balcony too.  the view was not bad, but a bit of street noise in the morning (doh!) :-P

But there's a solution to that:

Wow, quite a well stocked liquor cabinet!  who needs to go to a fancy club or bar? the party is right here! 酒一杯が在った。

The good luck got better... the Suite they gave us the first night was not available the second night, so they had to ask us to switch rooms.... and they felt so bad about it (and making me sleep on the couch), that they offered us TWO rooms,  wow score again!   Now that's good customer service!
