R for Race Autograph Session at HK Book Fair

More pics from my trip on Friday afternoon to the HK Book Fair.  After Phat's Tattoo book signing,  I went upstairs to see Race's 'R for Race' photo book signing (pics from last weekend's signing at CEO in CWB are here) -Race stops for a pic w/ a fan.

I'm guessing he took the day off work to stand in line. ;-)

Look who else happened to stop by! Its Terence Yin! all the photographers wanted a piece of this pic....  I had to fight for position. I mentioned in my last blog that this place was CRAZY crowded...  there had to have been at almost 100,000 people in the convention center (i think the 7 day total will be about 1 million visitors for the whole book fair).  You MAY have heard there was some controversy in the news lately about the overabundence of photo books of models that have taken over the book fair...  at least the autograph sessions have. They're definitely not fine literature, but since its a book fair, not a literature fair,  I don't think its bad to incorporate them into the event... if it gets more people in the door, its probably good for everyone. :-PAfter complaints last year, this year they separated out most of the photo book signings to the top floor in a separate room..  You had to wait in several lines that snaked back and forth like disney land rides in order to even get to the escalator to come up... these guys were at the last last line before they let you into the room where the actual artists were waiting.  this group brought their signage in full glory...    they were fans of some of the pin-up models that have become popular at these things.i don't even think the actual model was in the middle of this big frenzy, I think it was just reporters and fans taking pictures of all the super-fans w/ their signs and banners. :-PSince I left with Terence, we got to sneak out the back way,  we actually passed the 'ready area' where the models actually were,  except most of them were ALSO swarmed by reporters here.   I only saw a few. :-POh, we did see someone interesting though:I have no idea WHAT this guy is (QR code man?)  but his handler was the one who asked Terence for a photo, not the other way around.   The hilarious thing to notice was this:yes, QR man got his autographed copy of 'R for Race' too. :-P
