Howard McCrary @ Key Club and Shanghai Tang Party

after a really busy weekend last week w/ the nike party, Pat Lee's event and some late night karaoke,  I was hoping to catch up on my rest during the week, but of course that never happens,  on tuesday night Pat wanted to go to see a Shanghai Tang party that was being held at the Ferry Pier in Central...

On the way in I was surprised at the set-up,  apparently Shanghai Tang spent a LOT of money set up... yes, they somehow got a fountain going in here...   (is this here all the time?  it wasn't the last time I came to an event here...)

I didn't take too many pictures inside, we actually missed the fashion show part of the event (too late! doh),  but there were lots of models stills dressed up and fancy pants society types in nice clothes...  (etchy doesn't like dressing up if he doesn't have to).

After that we walked over to the Key Club in LKF to see a performance by AnD artist Howard McCrary.  He was on the piano and had a bassist and a singer working with him.  Very cool.

He had Gold Mountain sitting down w/ him at the piano and they were trading off verses of 'Stand By Me'...    I like the part where he through in an Alivenotdead.com shout-out the best. ;-)

Howard was really impressive,  this was the first time I had seen him perform in person,  I had assumed he just played the piano and sang... but he was truly a /performer/!

not to use a really lame pun but he was 'getting down'...  and a few times he got up, worked the crowd and yes, even started dancing!

Howard is playing again next tuesday, maybe I'll take my mom to see that show...
