Asian Film Review: Scorpion King (蝎子战士 - 1992)

Another HK Legends DVD.  a relatively paint by the numbers wire-fu piece from the early 90s starring Chin Ka-Lok and featuring Yuen Ka-leung.  The Chinese name is "蝎子战士" also known as "Operation: Scorpio"  for some reason.

The best thing about this movie is the unique fight choreography brought to the table by the main bad guy,  Korean martial artist and stunt coordinator Kim Won Jin.   He plays the so-called 'Scorpion King',  so-named because he fights in a unique scorpion style...  which involves him being in all sorts of bizarre poses and body contortions to resemble a scorpion ready to strike.  He's also super flexible so prepare yourself for Van Damme levels of center splits and groin tearing leg lift posing.  :-P

Here's a clip of his first fight scene -

I give it a 6/10 for this reason.  Actually the story kind of meanders and drags....  bonus points for the bizarre 'French' he-mans association.... looks more like a gay gym in San Francisco....
