After the biking two weeks ago, Brandon and I were taking it easy, especially because we ate what effectively was a 6pm lunch... he decided to check out the night market and we met up in Yau Ma Tei at about 9:30. We took the MTR over to Mongkok and grabbed some MOS burger at Langham place where J.to met up with us. After MOS burger closed up, we had to find something else to do. Since he lives nearby, he gave us a brief tour of Mongkok at night -- i have been there plenty of times in the day, but only a few times at night. Mongkok has a pretty bad rep of being the center of vice in HK... which is not completely undeserved, but its not a dangerous place (compared to the US at least).
二週末前Brandon君と僕はモンコクでJason君と一緒深夜散歩した。12時ぐらいけど、人まだ一杯が居た。二三枚写真が有る。
One thing that was amazing was seeing how many people are walking around at midnight on a Sunday Night... One of the more interesting things about Hong Kong.
Some guy had set up w a table w/ bootleg DVDs from China. You don't see it as much in HK anymore, but in the right part of town at the right time of day... コピーDVDの売る人。中国で何所でもに見える、でも今香港の道理で少ないが有る。。。
Some people lining up for late night snacks. Whats that picture hanging up there?
深夜けど、食べ物屋台まだ開いています。
We stopped by a DVD store. I found some gems... I (finally) bought Hamasaki's new CD/DVD 'Guilty'. In Japan this would cost about $39 right now w/ the weak dollar. In HK even a legit copy is only HK$89, which is only about $11.25. Exactly the same except its the 'export version'...
I also saw this humorous typo... DVD店で面白物を見た:
Dead or Alive: Final? let's take a closer look at the box...
!?! I think whoever was making the box for this film thought Josie was married to a different member of 'Alive'...
I ended up buying another interesting HK film from about 8-9 years ago called 'Rave Fever'... review coming soon. :-P
