24Herbs + MC Yan at Sammi Cheng Concert's! 24味+MC仁在Love Mi 鄭秀文世界巡回演唱會

Sunday night I was lucky enough to get to see 24Herbs perform at Sammi Cheng's concert!  They are performing once each night with their collaboration song with Sammi titled '罪與罰/Forgiveness' ( click here to see it in Cantonese or here to see it in English). MC Yan was also a guest performer for one track,  and it turns out Hanjin Tan was too.  wow,  a lot of alivenotdead.com artists in the house!

It used to say '& Guests',  but someone crossed it out.  (24Herbs is at the level where their entourage gets its own separate dressing room?)

The show was pretty kickass.  The sound and lighting was pretty impressive.  I've only been to one show at the Coliseum before,  and this is the first 'center stage' Cantopop show for me at this venue.

When 24 went to go on stage we rushed up to the stands to get a better view:

This contraption lowered from the ceiling and 24Herbs climbed up from the bottom and then did their thing on top with Sammi.

I took this picture to try and make it more clear.  the outfit had these wing type things one her shoulders that were lined w/ red lasers that shot up in all directions... 

MC Yan was out shortly after.  Wearing one of his '宁死不屈'  jackets.

After the guys changed and went home (keeping in mind that they're doing this show like 10 times!)  I went back out to watch the rest of the show (I actually AM a fan of Sammi!   ...her Lee Jung Hyun cover dance music at least!)

Apparently each night she has a different special guest.  The night before was Andy Hui,  this night it was Hacken Lee (who's music I am not at all familiar with).  I heard a rumor that the night after (tonight) was going to be Jacky Cheung.  Doh!  I hope Machiatohad a good time, I'm jealous. Jacky is an awesome performer! :-P

Anyway,  the ballads didn't do much for me,  but the part I came for was the medley of Sammi's dance numbers (circa 2000).  It was a pretty impressive visual and auditory feast! :-D

As a matter of fact since apparently they were not restricting people with digital cameras,  I also got a bit of '獨家試唱' and '煞科'on video....  there are a ton on youtube already, but if East Asia or youtube ask me to take mine down, of course I will:

Not bad sound quality, right?  Unfortunately I forgot to set it to 640x480 before filming, but I probably would have ran out of memory if I had done that ... either way video doesn't do the number justice... it was much more impressive in person.

They had some pyrotechnics and some confetti cannons. I missed most of the fireworks, but the confetti took long enough to fall for me to get it on camera.

The encore involved another costume change.  I'll be honest,  as much as I enjoyed the show,  the costumes were a bit too far out for me.   I think this is a staple of Cantopop concerts though...  you CAN'T wear normal clothes up there...  :-P

Last guest for the night,  Hanjin Tan,  who did a duet of 'Killing Me Softly' on the guitar.  Pretty cool!

ashamed to admit it but I only stayed til the 1st encore I think there was maybe another one after that, I figured the rest were just going to be more ballads so I made a run for the bus before the other 12000 people....  :-D

Anyway thanks to the powers that be for hooking me up with this opportunity!  If the tickets weren't sold out months ago I'd have totally paid for it! ;-)
