things that come in twos .

i have a headache.

my mother said, death comes in threes. then what comes in twos? …the hell does that mean?

so my biggest concerns are the TWO SHOWS i have in the next two months.

(1) NIKE + ART collabo show - the point of this show is to combine art, youth culture, sport and apparel into a fantastic hybrid, new territory for nike. the concept of this show is destruction is creation, and vice versa. my assignment is to use a person who has influenced los angeles as inspiration - my person is astrid gallegos, a wardrobe stylist. the turnaround for this show is fierce (i have less than a month to complete my mission! ack!) im working like mad! this will be showcased next artwalk in downtown LA.

(2) THE HIVE GALLERY: FEATURE - im finally going to be featured as a headliner for the hive gallery WITH my college mentor, eric hamm. SO COOL! i have a six foot beast i was going to use for the nike show, and instead, im going to use it for the hive.

i also have TWO COMMISSION PIECES i need to finish:

(1) adityo wondojojo

adityo has purchased some of my work from the restaurant SYRUP DESSERTS (611 south spring street, los angeles ca) and has asked me to create something for him. he sent me pictures of his koi via email, and this is what i came up with so far:

the background - take in mind these panels are roughly five-foot by five-foot and are a pain to work on as a whole…. it has also taken over my studio. PAINTING: 1; ASIA: 0.

the first koi to be illustrated - in order to work on this piece, i have to work on different panels separately or together in different formations…sigh. the work is looking good though so, cant complain.

the progress of fish: im done with the koi. now i need to add water detail and maybe reflections of other fish? i havent decided yet, or ill let the painting tell me what to do. PAINTING: 2; ASIA: 0.

other things that are happening in my life -

2 roundtrip flights to go back home for the 2 winter holidays…

plus two boys i have to take care of at home in la ~

im also waiting on two apparel clients give me green lights, more or less…its complicated… i dont want to talk about it… yes….
