the story of rangda: rangda is a balinese queen who was exiled from the kingdom for practicing sorcery. she took revenge by killing half the empire before she was stopped by a holy man. her name means ‘widow.’ i really want rangda as a tattoo.

TAROT CARD SHOW - THE HIVE GALLERY

the tarot card show - the gallery curator picked twenty artists to contribute to the show. he shuffled the card deck for fifteen minutes and dealt cards accordingly (this way each artist’s true card comes up)

my card is the sun - in the story: after a very long and arduous journey, the fool comes across a little boy in a field of sunflowers. amidst the field, the fool finally feels happy and experiences ecstasy. the boy walks with the fool, asking questions like why the sky is blue. after a while, the fool turns around and asks the boy, who are you? and the boy answered, i am you. the boy began to float up into the sky and disappeared towards the sun. the sun card means pure happiness.

SYRUP DESSERTS

i have a bunch of paintings in Syrup Desserts, a waffle shop that serves amazing sweets. every artwalk i stop by to greet customers and show off work, so if you are in the area please stop by.

i have a series of deer i painted specifically for syrup - i cleaned up my style for the shop in order to preserve ambiance.

i once had a dream about a phoenix that swooped me up into the sky and i returned back as a corpse. will elaborate later

so this is me in a nutshell in terms of my painting life. other than that, i am still teaching at vision21 (foundation, illustration, sometimes concept and fashion illustration) i love my students! i am also  working on a bunch of freelance projects and i work promo in hollywood for visionshock. busy busy busy! and very very happy
