freelance with mark allen

the other day i went onto alivenotdead.com and saw the work i did for a friend of mine, mark allen. i submitted some design-work that was used as backstage props for a concert. its a really cool feeling to see my work in action! for those who want to check out the detailed process of prop making, go to

as for a short visual summary:

design inspiration. the sign should read “last name,” and the words need to light up individually so it can read “lie.”

pencil sketches, throwing out ideas for the signs

the sketch  provided, given the image of inspiration

handed off to other artists: 3D model version

compositor takes (with lights on/off) adds glow = brings to life

final product for this sucker

end result, woo! haha
