Oliver Stone to judge inaugural Asian Short Film Awards

STONE TO LEAD SINGAPORE JURY

BEIJING — Oliver Stone will head the short films jury at the inaugural ScreenSingapore in June, the Southeast Asian city state’s Media Development Authorityand organizer Experia said Tuesday.

From June 5-12, three-time Oscar winner Stone will head a jury comprised of Singaporean director Eric Khoo, RGM Media founder and CEO Devesh Chetty

and Maggie Lee, The Hollywood Reporter’s chief Asia film critic.

“The Asian Short Film Awards is an opportunity for the global film community to recognize upcoming Asian filmmakers,” MDA CEO Aubeck Kam said.

The jury will short-list the top three films, and Stonewill pick the winner. The winner will have his or her travel to and accommodation at the awards ceremony in Singapore paid for and get a SGD$20,000 ($15,665) cash prize.
