ladies and gentlemen, triptych no.2 of the year, (and my life):
i did these over the weekend, but alas, in vain; clemente did not come to pick them up today.
i apologize for the colours, they're killed by gif-ing my images. i swear the colours are nicer in real life, i swear. Read more
this is a sketch i did for a song project that i'm actually scrapping.
it was nice drawing it because it was so big.
so big in fact, i didn't realize the scanner missed the middle part of the drawing. i actually kinda like the way that part's missing, but hey.
if you&...Read more
last night i worked on a piece for this morning's crit. i had started it on friday and could never seem to get it right.
i think it might be the format or something, but the main thing is, (and i've said this a million times) that it's unresolved.
i don't know what to do about it so i'm completely open to any ideas.
i've received a few suggestions for more concrete elements to tell the story.
i might go back and try that real soon.
in the meantime, this is the piece i...Read more
it is 5:06am and i just finished working on my promotional mailer for kathryn.
seeing the final product realized makes me feel so satisfied, but even more than that- it makes me so excited to get my work out there. i can't wait to be working.
speaking of which, i might have just gotten my first paying gig. if all goes well, my first legit illustration job will be done by mid-november, (along with my site? ). there is a ton of work to be done in the next little while- but i haven't felt more excited. i feel ...Read more
i did a psylocke sketch in fred's sketchbook.
lately we've been heavy into the superheroes, (specifically batman and x-men); forget the indie comic shtuff.
anyway, i challenge anyone sheridan, (or otherwise) to some superhero sketch posts. if you're serious, we can do this.

i have been working on the backgrounds to the surreal work, but i have not had my camera around.
but, in other news, i got my alter ego project back from three weeks ago- so i scanned it and now i'm posting.
the project begins with a photocopy of an old yearbook photo, from there we have to create a story around this visual "clue".
this assignment was the depiction of the character as their fictional and non-fictional heroes.
i saw harvey and showed him my steve buscemi portrait and upon further inspection, realized that there were some finishing touches i had to take are of. i will post the finished painting once i make those final changes.
in the meantime, i am also starting a surreal painting project that will last approximately three weeks. this is the sketch i have for the first painting. i'm feeling real excited to start painting.
an elephant and a lion cub came to sheridan today for the purposes of some life drawing. it was open to all arts students.
there were a lot of people there from other departments just marvelling and making a big deal out of the event. it was somewhat enchanting. if it weren't for the people constantly walking up to the elephant and petting it, blocking the view of the drawers- i would even say that the afternoon was perfect.
i did maybe six or seven pages, here are but a few sketches,
(ballpoint and ink on...Read more
