Hainan vacation and recent events

Last weekend, my mom was in town, as I see her only about 3 times a year, I took her on a weekend get away in HaiNan, China.

Came out as a pleasant surprise, we stayed at the Hilton in Yalong Bay, seriously the nicest Hilton I've ever seen/stayed at. However, I wouldbn't recommend going to any of the tourist traps outside of the hotel, there are only a few hotels that were like this, and we were lucky to have booked this one. We got to scuba dive, para sail and wakeboard!

今天14：28我在天安门广场

     听到举哀的消息后，我决定去天安门广场，为了遇难同胞 ，也为了家乡的同事和朋友。

     下午两点乘车出发，阳光炽热，心情焦虑。一路上，很多人驻足长安街 两旁，不断抬头看看电报大楼的时钟，电视采访车已经等在了新华门对 面，不少人在拍照新华门前降下的国旗，更多的人急匆匆地向着广场方 向行进。出租车的广播器里传出北京交通指挥中心的命令：14：14所有汽车开始减速进入倒计时；14：27进入最后1分钟倒计时。车到石碑胡同，已经走不动了，我的心急切跳动 ，生怕赶不及，跳下车挤进人流。有人手拿小型国旗、有人胸配白花 ，更多的人装束如常，但表情凝重。

     我终于提前3分钟站在了广场和长安街西口，广场上已经聚集了密密麻麻的人群 。警察让所有车辆停了下来，轿车里的人们都走出来站在车外 ，广播里再次传出国务院的吊唁决定，并指挥大家面对国旗站立 。不少人在拍照、录像，大多...Read more
