Last night at the film fest, Justin Chon showed me a music video he directed for our friend, Big Phony. Check it out… “But I Will, Everyday” shot with Justin’s iPhone! Watch it all the way through! It’s super cute:
I think if Justin keeps it up with directing, we might see something of his at the film festivals in the next few years!
Opens tonight! See you there? http://asianfilmfestla.org/2010/
Next Tuesday night at the Downtown Independent, my music video program returns in its 4th year at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. This is usually quite the popular event with a lot of artists in attendance, so I’d recommend getting a hold of your tickets sooner than later, cuz’ it WILL sell out. There will be an afterparty on the rooftop (for badgeholders only) and most likely one at Origami or another nearby joint! Come enjoy some music videos on the big screen and then mingle for a bit! Viva la Cinema Musica!Read more
Wow. So awesome. Heard about this guy from some peeps on AliveNotDead.
U.S. debut on Lopez Tonight:
On the Ellen DeGeneres Show:
I love it. Taiwanese pride, yo! Hahaha j/k. Well, half kidding. It’s just awesome to see someone who once had a dream crushed… make a big comeback! Susan Boyle, Lin Yu Chun… keep singing and inspiring!
So I just got back to LA from Taipei three nights ago. Definitely dealing with some jet lag. Hopefully, I’ll be back to normal by next week as that’s when the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival begins! And guess what? The opening night film is none other than AU REVOIR, TAIPEI! How ironic is that?
Yes! More Asian Americans on GLEE, please! I don’t even watch GLEE, but I know that it’s a very popular show right now and well, I’m always down for more Asian American faces in media, especially if they’re freakin’ talented.
Esther Nara (Esna) – I got teary-eyed watching this one:
Jennifer Chung – such a little girl, but such a big voice:
It’s going down May 1st at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood!

If you’re Asian American and have yet to fill out your Census form… well, why the heck haven’t you? I have a good excuse cuz’ I’m out of the country for the time being. But look, apparently Asian Americans are the most likely to throw out their Census forms (like how we’re the least likely to vote… ugh)… and we need to change that! Don’t you want a piece of that $400 billion that’s being distributed? But really, the more accurate the count, the better we can be served by our government. Gosh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jeannie Mai. I recently got to meet up w/ her in Thailand, but I’ll save that for another blog :] For now, here’s a vid from when Jeannie first put her prayer box up on Runyon Canyon:
Something I’m looking forward to when I get back to LA is to be able to hike again! So lacking that over here in Asia… and because of the rain in Taipei… I feel very lazy. Haha >_
