Thanks for your suppport, not just in me, but also positive non-stereotyped Asian representation in mainstream mass media. ☺
BEHIND THE SCENES: "Transformed" is a 6 part sci-fi mini-series where I had a leading role. We are now in post-production with a trailer coming soon hopefully. The series will premiere online May 2017.
I've also been writing a lot of my own short science-fiction stories and scripts too lately and I've been self-taping myself doing the scenes. More on that soon and willing to collaborate with any filmmakers.
British Chinese/east Asian celebrities joined around 120 people at last night’s ‘yellowface’ protest against The Print Room’s production of "In The Depths of Dead Love". We're already marginalised enough as it is in mainstream media, that's why whitewashing our roles fucks us off.
Skateboarding for my latest shoot for Philips new portable wireless speaker. Client requested a skateboarder, I stepped forwards. They let me keep the new board! :)
It's already hard for us East Asians to land roles in the West (or in the mainstream) let alone non-stereotyped ones but it really pisses us off if roles that should have been opportunities for us get whitewashed.
BEHIND THE SCENES: Just before xmas I did this shoot for an electronics brand for their new blu-tooth portable speaker. It was my first skateboarder assignment since I did the old PS1 game, "Akuji", years ago. The client even kindly let me keep the brand new board afterwards and I wasted no time rocking the Wan Chai skatepark the next day.
