I have no connection to this production, but if you read my blogs, you know I like different dance - and this was an interesting clip I came across I thought I would share.

I have to warn you that there is no real point to this blog other than as a source of imagination... And I realize I'm talking theoretical numbers.
I was watching a historical documentary about Greek History (which I have another unpublished blog about as well) and it referenced that about 50,000 people died in a war around the sixth century BC. That's a huge number obviously - but then it occurred to me that the population of the world then would make that number even larger a footprint.
So - I looked up the worl...Read more
Everyone knows not to stare at the sun. It's not hard to figure out, your body instantly turns away from it and closes your eyes if you accidentally glimpse it. And even one glimpse can be damaging. The damage shows up instantly.
But what if it didn't? What if the affects of staring at the sun were not felt for 10 maybe even 20 years? What if the sensation of looking at the sun was interesting. Can you imagine how many people would discover years later that they were going blind? They would be shocked. Even-though t...Read more
Okay, so I've decided I'm going to make an effort to show more of the work that keeps me busy. While much of it is non disclosable, I do a lot of work that I can share, but I just sort of forget to by the time it's released. Today - 3D animation directing.
Now and then I direct animation. I stumbled upon this clip of 3D commercial I directed on youtube, so I figured I'd share a couple commercials I've done in the next couple days.
Directing 3D animation is an odd thing for commercials...Read more
Today is Ray Bradbury's 89th birthday.
If we listened to our intellect, we'd never have a love affair. We'd never have a friendship. We'd never go into business, because we'd be cynical. Well, that's nonsense. You've got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down. - Ray Bradbury Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlYAhSffEDMThanks to Brock DeShane for sharing these with me.
I was listening to Ray Kurzweil speak on the radio today mostly about concepts detailed in his book "Singularity Is Near."
One thing he said caught my attention because my initial reaction was "impossible" - but then I remembered another book I read and then understood how this could be feasible.
Before I explain, it's worth noting that Ray Kurzweil is widely regarded as a futurist whose predictions actually come true. things like - world expansion of the internet. Bill Gates and others admire his predic...Read more
With all the musicians and music fans on the site, I figured I ought to submit this for your entertainment...
Personally, I'm very impressed with the musicality involved - the melodies become nearly operatic.

I sometimes marvel at architecture because it seems so permanent. I am fascinated by stone and metal sculptures for the same reason. They have a permanence. Eventhough over time they will fall if not maintained, they last in their true form for millennia or longer.
But movies - they are so technology dependent. Even in 20 years the movie will not be experienced in the same format it was created. The technology will have changed so much that the references will be outdated and the full impact unable to reach in it's original form. In 100...Read more
I've been away for a while because I've been doing thre different shows. One is American Idol, one is a skechers commercial, the other was a project for Michael Jackson.
For most of my work I have to be cautious about what I say, but with the current circumstances I was given the okay to share some thoughts as long as I didn't show anything from the project.
A month ago I was given the opportunity to create one small section of Michael Jackson's upcoming London concert tour. It was a lot of work, ...Read more
I attended a vigil in Santa Monica for Laura Ling and Euna Lee on the 3rd of June.
I don't have much to add that hasn't been covered by the news already.
I was next to the stage and it was quite heart wrenching to watch the families and imagine how difficult it would be to be in their situation. I wasn't going to post anything about it, but Kelly sent me some photos I was in (and had no idea were being taken) - and so I thought I'd just share the event through these photos and including the music f...Read more
