The winner of the annual Mercury Music Prize was announced in London last night and surprise winners were Elbow with their album 'Seldom Seen Kid'. The competition was hard with such artists as Estelle, Adele,Laura Marling,British Sea Power, Neon Neon, Burial, The Last Shadow Puppets, Plant and Krauss, Radiohead, Rachel Unthank and Portico Quartet. Previous winners of the award are Amy Winehouse, Franz Ferdinand, Antony and the Johnsons, Doves and The Verve.Am a fan of Elbow and i have included one of my favourite Elbow songs Fugative Motel from the album Cast of Thousands.

I had the opportunity to watch N*E*R*D gig last night and they were brill. The only problem was the amount of camera phones and cameras which were being constantly used and which at times were blocking my view. I didn't want to be a groupie so didn't go to the front and was in the middle of the venue and there were so many people who didn't watch the gig but just stood recorded and took photos the whole time. What is the point of going to a gig when all you want to do is record the gig on a phone and take pictures you may as well say at home and watch the gig on DVD it really pisses me off a couple of pics ok but not about 1,000 of them. i did take a couple but most were crap because they were blurred. Notice the amount of camera phones in the crowd.
Just go back from Thailand if i could fall in love with a country this would be the one. My friend shit herself in Bangkok it was all a bit to much her i think she had sensory overload. Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi island were beautiful places where you could just sit back and watch the world go by. Considering it was the rainy season they weather was perfect and the people were lovely am so taken with the place am already planning my next trip back.
