& AVIMA 2009 (ASIA VOICE INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS)

" INDIE MUSIC - THE FUTURE OF MUSIC "

Hi,

We are pleased to invite you to send your nominations for 2 upcoming independent music awards

a) Asia's First Independent Music Awards (AVIMA 2009) - in the categories of either hip-hop/rap, Pop/R&B, Dance or Rock. We even have a category called Genre bender for any songs that have more than 2 genre's in it.

b) Best International Act for VIMA 2008 (Malaysia's First Independent Music awards)

The AVIMA 2009 will be held in Kuala Lumpur in March 2009, and to participate, do email us your songs at music@voize.my to be nominated in mp3 format or any readable format. AVIMA 2009 seeks to bring together and honor the best talent from the following countries : Japan, Hong Kong, India, China, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Philipines.We recognize you as one of the best independent acts in the region and we look forward to your participation.

VIMA 2008 on the other hand, is Malaysia's First Independent Music awards, honoring the best Malaysia independent acts. One of the categories of VIMA 2008 is Best International Act. We will pool together the best of Asia and shortlist to 6 final nominees for this category. We believe that you stand a good chance to make the cut.

Please take note that we also have a best music video and best album cover category if you would like to participate

Both AVIMA 2009 and VIMA 2008 is organized by the Asian lifestyle and entertainment website Voize.my (www.voize.my). The company is based in Malaysia, and intends to champion the rights of independent bands.

The major categories for the awards are - pop( r&b,folk,reggaeetc),rock(alt-rock,heavy metal,ska,grunge,indie, etc), dance (electronica,trip-hop,drum n bass,techno,ambient,etc) and hip-hop/rap

We will be working with the media in each country to try and support the awards and provide create more awareness to the public. Please let us know who are the best radio stations, newspapers, TV stations, webistes that we could write to, to help promote you and also the awards. We would be grateful if you could also get us the emails that we could write to.

Nominations for VIMA 2008 and the best international act category is currently on-going until the 30th November 2008. All submissions must be material released between June 1st 2007 and November 30th 2008.You may also submit new material to be considered for the awards, as long as it reaches us before the deadline.You may submit as many entries as possible into the various categories. Alternately, you may refer to www.voize.my for on-going updates and information about VIMA

Nominations for the Asia Award, AVIMA 2009 starts from November 1st 2008 until January 31st 2009. Submissions must be for material between January 1st 2008 to January 1st 2009.The awards as we stated will be given out on March 21st, 2009.

If you are not able to email us your songs, then just point us to your website/myspace/youtube links for us to listen to your nominated songs.
The concept of the Independent awards is to honor songs and EP's and not albums.
