My 15 seconds of fame thanks to Star TV...

OK, I've been waiting for this to come out for a few weeks...  almost hoping no one would see it.... but the cat is out of the bag -

If you happen to pass through the Quarry Bay MTR station in the next few days,  you may see this dork's face on a pillar staring back at you:

No, that's not something I photoshopped together...  its part of a series of ads that Star TV is making to celebrate getting their 1,000,000th HK subscriber....       I am just one of the people they roped into being part of it.

Not only is it in the subway, but according to friends who have spotted it,  it was in the South China Morning Post a few days ago and they're running a video clip in their on air ads on Star TV's channels right now.  :-O

Its quite embarrassing to me!  but cool to hear from random long lost friends and business contacts who have spotted me in the subway and on TV (so far I've gotten Singapore, HK and Macau).

Here's a few pics from behind the scenes too!  The whole thing was very last minute... they asked me to shoot it the morning after I came back from Beijing last month.  I had to report to a spot on Bridges road in mid-levels.  I assumed there would be a bunch of people being shot and interviewed but it turned out they were there just for me! :-O

We shot in front of the old YMCA.  I think this is where Sun Yet Sen used to live or something... a historic spot.  (apologies for the bad HDR pic!)

This was the real deal! make up artist even! :-P

I should note that it was Star TV's people's request I wear the AnD outfit...  not mine! :-P

Here's me doing the 'I Like It' pose for the still shot...  I had to do it like 900 times... I'm not good at smiling in pictures if you haven't noticed.  the photographer had to try really hard to get me to laugh... i'm like one of those uncooperative kids at a family portrait studio.

Here's the video shoot portion... It was hard talking with the guy shining the sun in my eyes... and as you can see it was quite sunny that day...  I'm glad I managed to make it through the whole interview w/o any sweat stains appearing on my shirt. :-P

no comment on what I actually said in the interview...    the one line they happened to use in the add is kind of embarrassing,  people have already started making fun of me for it.  

I can't complain though, its a high visibility campaign... so I want to thank Star TV for giving me the chance to participate!    I wonder if anyone will recognize me on the street now??? :-P

I just hope the ad is still up in the MTR by the time I get back in town...   I want to pose for a pic in my outfit in front of that column!
