Flugtag HK is over!

i just got home a little while ago from Flugtag.  so glad its over.  our plane didn't go very far... but we did pretty decent given the bad weather conditions.

it was raining on and off all day and there was a heavy cross wind.  as a result a few planes got blown over before they even got off the runway and they forced the teams to start closer to the end.

our plane looking a little worse for wear after spending the night outside in the  rain,  but it stayed in one piece long enough to make it to the runway (barely!)

despite these difficulties,   Gloria rocked some major cajones and rode the plane all the way down into the drink!

Alan Leung put some video online already!

Go leave him a comment to thank him for sharing it so quick!

I didn't take many pictures since I was busy running around the whole time.  here's a few i took while we were in line for the takeover ramp:

Note the brand new (not free) Zigtec shoes that Gloria is wearing.  they have a safety rule that all team members need to have closed toe shoes,  but Gloria didn't bring any, so I had to buy her a new pair of shoes from Reebok...

Let me skip to the end of the day to let you know that we actually tied for 3rd place in the judges score.  they have the 3rd place prize to the other team and instead awarded us with the 'best performance' award for the pre-flight antics.

Guess what our team gets as a prize?  a pair of zigtec sneakers from Reebok!!!!  yeah! :-P

Afterwards we joined the Racks boat party offshore:

there were a bunch of boats enjoying the view.  that barge with the crane is where they take the pieces of your plane after your trip! :-P

ah, a much more exciting view from this side! :-P

Anyway, i want to quickly thank all the people who made this event possible.  Thanks to Red Bull, thanks to our sponsors and partners - This Music Studio, Annie Who,  Flying Pan, Racks MDB, thanks to Milk Magazine,  thanks to all the people who pitched in help at the last minute.

And thanks to our team members, Simon, Derrick, Vince and especially super-brave Gloria:

That smile betrays the fact that she just took a swim in Victoria Harbor the hard way! :-D

Thanks to Jun for being a judge too!
