游记 （二）- “梵蒂岡城國。博物馆。西斯廷小堂”意大利-罗马 （第三辑） Travelogue (2) - Italy - Rome - The Vatican City， Museum and Sistine Chapel (Part 3)

A trip to Rome will not be completed without a visit to the Vatican City, The Vatican Museum and The St. Peter Basilica. I had scheduled only two days in Rome so I picked and selected those must do activities for me. Top of the priority was to do a Vatican Musuem Tour with a guide. The tips for saving time is to purchase all your entrance ticket and book all your tour online to cut all the queues. The St Peter Basilica was closed the afternoon to prepare for the mass for Easter so I had to miss it this time.

Took very few images in the museum because the guide was way too entertaining. She was a very knowledgeable guide, so engrossed in listening to her, I didn't bother to take any photos except a couple of those fascinating ceilings and a few distraction on the way.

梵蒂冈博物馆是世界上最伟大的博物馆之一，其中的藏品是多个世纪以来罗马天主教会收集、积累的成果。

16世纪时，教皇儒略二世创建了博物馆。遊客在遊覽梵蒂岡博物館時會經過由拉斐爾裝飾的西斯廷礼拜堂和拉斐尔房間（Stanze di Raffaello）。

What I meant by distraction was the beautiful scenery out of one of the windows inside the Musuem.

Here is a glimpse of the dome of the St Peter Basilica which was designed by Michaelangelo.

Did however manage to visit the Sistine chapel, so here are some shots, not very good ones because, NO PHOTOGRAPHY WAS ALLOWED, but people were still stealing snaps. In the name of ART and for coming all the way from so far, I gave myself an excuse and stole a few shots too.

西斯廷小堂（Cappella Sistina）是一座世界著名的天主教小堂，紧邻圣伯多禄大殿，以米开朗基罗所绘《创世纪》穹顶画，及壁画《最后的审判》而闻名。也是教宗的选出仪式的举行处。

Michelangelo painted 12,000 square feet (1,100 m 2) of the chapel ceiling between 1508 and 1512. He resented the commission, and believed his work only served the Pope's need for grandeur. However, today the ceiling(Genesis), and especially The Last Judgement are widely believed to be Michelangelo's crowning achievements in painting.
