Hazrat Sultan Mosque, the largest mosque in Central Asia, may be new in Astana but is a diamond of work. The mosque was named in honor of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, a Sufi sheikh who was a poet, a philosopher and a Muslim saint. I won't be able to make it to the mausoleum in Turkestan but this architectural piece of art made my list today. #kazakhstan #astana #mosque #expeditionX
