In preparation for our expansion into new episodes of Lady Wasteland, which will hopefully happen soon after we land a sponsor for the show, we've spent time to do a new color-correction pass on the original 7 episodes. The link to the YouTube Channel can be found below.

The look of the show is now more desaturated, grainy and blown-out with a more blurred and silhouetted frame. While the general story-line has not been expanded upon... we feel the overall look conveys a more bleak and undesirable landscape.

Lady Wasteland was filmed three years ago as an marketing test to see whether there was a world-wide audience interested in watching a post-apocalyptic webseries. With no advertising and very little marketing, we amassed over a million views in the first year and had been featured on numerous VOD websites. While we were convinced the market was ripe at the time, unfortunately... it was "time" itself which wasn't ready.

Web series were still coming of age three years ago and many companies, production houses and independent filmmakers were unsure of how to market them for sponsorship. While we were looking to expand the series into a branded campaign, one based upon a company allow us to  integrate their product in the series, we did not have the necessary research or marketing expertise.

Currently my writing partner, Greg Demchak, and I have taken the loose story of the original pilot series and have created a whole new plot-line. No longer do we have three concurrent, narrative tales weaving in and out of each other... but one focused story dealing with just Lady and her quest to survive in a feudal based society of economic slavery and anarchy. Of course, there will be many new characters and sub-plots... but the crux of everything revolves around Lady and her quest to survive. Our new script is an hour-and-a-half long and can run singularly as a full length TV pilot or can be broken apart into ten web-based segments.

A substantial amount of work still needs to be done before we begin looking into production. We are confident in the story, its relation to current social, economic and political events of our time and its strong entertainment value.

The past few months of this year have been most interesting... indeed.

Nike has been keeping me very busy - working multiple, sometimes two at one time projects and overall it's been an amazing experience. Worked on some projects directly for Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant and other famous basketball stars, did some presentation work, edited some projects for Brammo - an electric motorcycle company and much more.

Ten new episodes of Lady Wasteland have been written this year. We're going to be expanding each of the 8 minutes episodes now into a full-length television script so we enough enough material to market it as a full-length TV series.

We've also recently finished the first script for our Lady Wasteland comic... and are actively looking for an illustrator to help us layout the first draft of the comic.

Outside of Lady Wasteland - I have been actively writing a series of short stories - very much along the lines of Grimms Fairy Tales. We've begun illustrations on the first book, "Both Bitter and Sweet Was Persephone Born Incomplete." It's a story about a young woman who is made of chocolate.

I have attached links to five of my stories if anyone would like to read them. We're illustrating each one... working with different artists and incorporating different styles to each tale, then will be doing a limited press run - programming it into an e(i)Book and then making a short film. That's the big project of the year.

It has been quite a while since I've updated my blog on AliveNotDead so I figured I'd punch a few keys and let everyone know what's been going on.

The relaunch of Lady Wasteland ( www.ladywasteland.com ) is progressing quite well. Greg Demchak and I have finished writing 10 new episodes which, strung together, make up a solid hour and a half TV pilot. We have meetings set up with companies for product placement / integration thanks to the help of our new partner and marketing professional Nathan DeNiro and from that, shall be raising the additional funds needed to begin production - which we are hoping will happen later this year, 2010.

The new episodes for Lady Wasteland are much more complex in construct and story development. We've introduced many new characters and have expanded the world around the wasteland into a much broader, medieval-esque layout.

The pilot episodes have all been re-color corrected and edited into a 17 minute short film which is going to be used as a promotional tool to rekindle interest in the series - as it's been two years since the original pilot series was launched.

Outside of Lady Wasteland - I've been doing quite a bit of writing. Recently, I've been working with Remy Jambor, an artist and illustrator, on five short young adult stories I've written. Every story has a dark edge to them... but their overall messages carry weight, dealing with either a moral or ethical issues that exist in gray areas rather than simple black and white.

A present update about an impeding future.

Season II of Lady Wasteland is currently still in pre-production with an abundance of new characters, plot lines and a new arc to Lady’s quest to find the six killers who murdered her best friend. Currently, there are 12 new episodes written, each expanded beyond Season One’s 2-4 minute length to an expanded running time of 6-8 minutes each. In this season, we discover the roots of our lead characters, introduce new obstacles that cause them to deviate from their current objectives and introduce Mr. Honorable; whose hands stretch across the wasteland and infiltrate every inhabitant with his soured touch.

Wasteland Films has expanded their distribution for the series with new contracts in place for a more broadened sweep across Asia and Europe. Lady Wasteland has signed on with content providers AllTheContent and MediaMojos who plan on promoting and distributing Lady Wasteland worldwide. In addition, Wasteland Films is undertaking the expansion of the series into a full-length television show that is going to be pitched by Canadian Company Industry Works. This pilot episode is currently being penned by writers Mark Roush and Greg Demchak and will dive deeper into the wasteland than the current webisode series.

Stiletto Designs is building the wasteland vehicle for Season II – a modified 1978 Plymouth Volare which, in the end, will not only look like it would be able to drive through a brick wall… but will most likely be able to do so. Progress pictures and documentation is taking place on this massive project with Art Director Tamara Gurevich designing the interior of the vehicle.

There is much more to write, but brevity has its place.
