So sorry to announce that we lost my 98 year old grandmother, Lily Tom, last night.

She was a spunky woman who loved people and introducing visitors to Hawaii to our culture. She often met tourists at the mall and invited them to our house for dinner and she greeted cruise ships with her group of senior citizen wahine who sang and played Hawaiian songs on their ukuleles.

I will always be grateful to her for taking me in for two years after my parents separated and let me live with her in Maui with my brother and Grandpa.
