it came out today. some of the work i did for the magazine. first time.. at last. woo hoo!
wow.. busy past few weeks
last night i went to the 'Worldwide Bape Heads Tour 2008'. it featured the Teriyaki Boys, NERD [minus Chad], and Kanye West. Even though NERD was the highlight, where the hell was Chad? 'Lapdance' killed the crowd and after that song my editor was on stage dancing with pharrell and his crew. it was pretty cool and there were tons of chicks. nice.
oh and this is what i did today.
the next major piece i have been assigned is 'Juice Knowledge Sessions Presents: Ska'. ska music covering all genres [from jamaican to punk]. at first i thought i knew what i wanted to do, but i decided after this warm up sketch to take a different route.

I can remember getting a collected issue of Battle Chasers by Joe Madueria back in my school days. Steve and I would look at the back pages where it would have some of Joe MAD's initial and warmup sketches. Back then we couldn't even sketch a final image that looked as good as his warmups... I remember Steve saying to me

Earlier last month I was commissioned to design a logo and a basic layout for 'Matters' Magazine and the website. This was a 1 day brief that was 5 magazine covers and two web page layouts.
'Matters' concentrate on enviromental issues on a global scale. The idea is that this will be distributed throughout Hong Kong, eventually moving to the rest of Asia.
'Laughter is infectious, like smallpox or gay'.
