Do you ever wake up and not know what day it is??? I mean I know what day of the week it is but I don't know the number usually... The holidays are starting ~and to me that means lots of weekends lost to dinners and get togethers with families and friends ...and in a blink of an eye it will be all over  Then New Years will come along and we will stress over what to do or where to go...andthen that will be over and it will be miserably quiet for business ...LOL how did I turn into a pessimist?? Maybe it comes with age ha!

   I have every weekend from now on totally booked up until New Years! How the Heck did that happen???Grrrrrr I haven't finished shopping for gifts yet!!! How do I stay sane if I work 7 days a week now up until x-mas???!!!!  How do you guys juggle the holiday stress??!!!  BTW why is it called the HOLIDAYS when I get no time off???? I need to go away for the holidays one time just one time!!

  Sorry for the complaining...I think it all started with this morning when my skinny vanilla latte was made with no vanilla and all milk..then I ended up spilling it over my coat when I got into the car...

   Our nail bar/boutique has been in business for 2 years and a bit now.  Within the past two years there have been a total of 3 nail salons that have opened around us...I mean literally 1 north, 1 south and another to the east..to the west of us is a bridge so there is no possibilty of a shop opening there.  Our business is different from them in that we have a gift boutique/nail salon but its basically nice to look at and serves as a conversational peice "oh that shop is so cute it has a nail bar at the back!" But unfortunately the salon has slowed down due to these "chop shops" (cheap ghetto nail salons that smell of acrylic) sprouting everywhere around us! We just can't beat the $35 manicure/pedicure that they offer and I am not willing to change our products or services to lower our prices! We use quality spa products and real brand name polishes! Unlike the other salons that fill their OPI bottles with no name polish! I refuse to do that!  I just couldn't!!! Our regulars keep coming but there are not enough regulars to keep us as busy as the "chop shops" down the road...I don't wanna close the salon part because it is sort of our "claim to fame" and it sets us apart from other gift boutiques in the city plus it will definately dissapoint our regulars who love our nail salon...I'm sad because no matter how much we want to keep that part of the shop...we might just have to surrender to the ghetto nail salons!!

   I went to a friends baby shower a few weeks ago and she held it at a fancy hotel downtown...It was my first time having "tea"

   The shower was only 2 hours and the food was to die for :)  The room was lovely as well!! I wish I could have "tea" more often

She gave out tea as gifts as well...just tried it today, and I liked it

Now this is the best part!!!

The scones were the best scones I have ever tried! They weren't dry like the usual ones!
